I have always wanted to do a photo safari. Over time, you hear about all the negative things happening to African wildlife. It's encouraging to read what Ewaso Lions Project is doing to preserve these beautiful creatures. Educating the local young men to become a positive force in conservation is fantastic. I know when I do plan a safari, I will be armed with more knowledge on the best way to enjoy my photography without making a negative impact on my surroundings. That you for sharing this great organization!

Thanks for the introduction to Shivani Bhalla and the Ewaso Lions project - it's really wonderful to hear about a program which is taking a positive and hands on approach to resolving human/lion conflict. It's amazing to hear that they are getting women involved and also changing the way warriors and local communities see the wildlife - that's how you impact real change :) Wishing them all the best.

So interesting, I didn't know that the lion population has decreased so much - it's sad. I'm planning a trip here for my birthday next year and this has definitely helped me understand a bit better.

Each region is peculiar that way. You don't have to pay top dollar in Botswana or Namibia to have a responsible travel experience. But Kenya is different

Ewaso Lions doesn't offer that opportunity- but the Cheetah Namibia project that a profiled a months ago does offer that- check it out. https://www.travelledroad.com/cheetah-conservation-on-waterberg-plateau/

It's probably always worth asking any lodge anywhere how many local people and resources they use- a good question to ask for any trip

Women in developing countries are often marginalized. that's why this is so remarkable- I love that they are involved in the program
